"When patterns are broken, new worlds emerge."—Tuli Kupferberg
Here at Epona Rivers I use an educational method to help you build emotional fitness and wellness. There are body awareness exercises as well as learning a program that helps you discern what are your true emotions, from the other chatter in your head, your emotions are there to serve you. The chatter is usually you just getting in your own way.
We will do exercises with the horses to build awarenesses. Being prey animals, horses take awareness of their surroundings to a whole new level and tend to be aware of, and react to, every facet of energy. Through experiential equine activities, one can tune into the intelligences of their heart and gut. Horses are masters at reading and teaching this insightful awareness. The latest research has shown the highest reasoning, and ingenuities, involve using the mind, heart and body.
Boundaries, it's about you keeping yourself safe and protected, and not letting other people get in your way. Through learning how to establish boundaries with the horse, one can better understand how to set boundaries in their own relationships, whether they are romantic, familial or work. "A tremendous boost in self-esteem and confidence comes from learning how to establish boundaries and direct a thousand pound creature through mental focus, presence and clarity of intent," says Linda Kohanov, Internationally recognized innovator of Equine Experiential Learning. "These skills, which can be difficult to teach in a conventional classroom, business coaching, or counseling session, have far ranging applications linked to increased success in personal relationships, career and parenting."
From there you learn the messages you emotions are giving you, and what questions to ask from each emotion, and how to reach for the better feeling emotions, so you can go back into feeling good and balanced.
Here you learn how to reach for the optimal thoughts to create an optimal life.
There truly is "something" about a horse.
"We arrive at the truth, not by reason only, but also by the heart."—Blaise Pascal
Historically, the communication pathways between the heart and head have been studied from a rather one sided perspective with scientists believing that the heart only responded to the brain's commands. Now we know that the communication between the heart and head is actually a "dynamic, ongoing two-way dialogue, with each organ continuously influencing the other's function." This interaction not only occurs within your own body, it occurs from being to being. Which is why our pets make us feel good, and our body reacts by lowering our blood pressure and releasing "feel good" biochemicals. Research elucidates, or clarifies, a fascinating finding that the electromagnetic fields, or signals, generated by the heart are 5000 times greater than that of the brain, have the capacity to affect others around us. One person's heart signals can affect another person's brainwaves. Horses, being prey animals, have a huge and very strong electromagnetic field, and are very adept at listening to this non verbal form of communication. With the horses we work with understanding this energetic communication. Both mythically, and now with science backing this belief, the horses truly are messengers to our own well being.
"There is something about the outside of a horse, that is good for the inside of a man." —Winston Churchill
Epona is the goddess of the horse. She is one of the celtic gods that remained unchanged when the Romans conquered and built their empire, and adapted her into their beliefs. Epona, mother horse goddess of Earth, was invoked often, but more frequently during the equinoxes to bring about smooth passage of the seasons, both physically and philosophically. Epona is the Celtic goddess called to honor equinox ceremonies. Reinforcing her power to deftly deal with transitions. As an Earth goddess, she is hailed for her grounding nature, particularly needed during times of crisis, or flux in life. Always depicted upon a horse, she would also serve as the guardian of new life. She would welcome safe arrival of new babies as well as new crops." - derivied from A Venefica, symbolic-meanings.com
In that spirit, I welcome you to Epona Rivers.
The horses and I facilitate your ability to reflect, and tune into, your own bodies wisdom and guidance. The concept of "emotional agility", where your emotions are a formidable tool that gives you important information for your own well being is taught, so you can take this, and apply it in every facet of your life.
In life's transitions, being able to support your personal empowerment, and the art of processing your emotions, may inspire you to create emotionally constructive experiences in your life. Bringing a sense of feeling good, and healthy, and having fulfillment.
Having the consistent practice of processing your emotions throughout your day, creates a positive and happy attitude, and creates great bio chemistry in yourself for a happy, healthy, mind and body. This can make for life opportunities you dream of..........
